We built raised beds using sleepers, the planting was carried out by the local community. Read more about the gardens opening here.
The Stephen Street development has involved the renovation of a triangle of land that was previously overgrown and derelict. Work, which began in February 2015, has provided areas for people to grow fruit and vegetables, as well as a shed and a water butt. Residents have been consulted about the trees and plants that are to be grown, and many are already helping with the upkeep of the garden. Funding was provided by Trafford Housing Trust's environmental funding team, with plans drawn up by contractors BTP Architects and completed by DJ Hughes.
